Join us for our third annual Anime in the Park at Lake David Park!

Synopsis:

Throughout the day, Lake David Park will be shining with performances, along with a marketplace of local artists. At night, two local groups will present stargazing workshops. Theme camps include D&D and a maid cafe. Interactive activities such as flow arts, games, and crafts can be found throughout the green spaces. Food trucks and Itasha vehicles will be camped out with us.

This year, we’re expanding into the night with stargazing activities brought to you by two local astronomy groups: the Central Florida Astronomical Society and Astronomy on Tap.

The amphitheater will come to life with a full day of vibrant showcases and performances, surrounded by a marketplace of local artists and community booths. Explore the city we build for a day. Be a part of something real, and bring your best forms of creativity.

Details

Our events are built for all ages. We invite everyone to join in our celebration of creativity, joy, and self-expression.

Children 12 and under require a parent or guardian present at all times.

Some content may be considered offensive. All attendees must read and agree to our terms and conditions, as well as the rules. We have a zero-tolerance policy towards harassment and aggressive behavior.

To keep our events safe, drugs and alcohol are not permitted. We ask that all attendees follow the three guiding principles of Anime in the Park: Leave No Trace, Self-Reliance, and Teamwork.

This event is completely outdoors, and will take place rain or shine. There are no permanent restrooms, and only porta-potties will be available for attendees. There is no air conditioning. Please read our Survival Guide and show up prepared. Our events require effort, but the end result is so worth it.

A wristband is required for the main event areas.

Shop early for the best rate. Each month offers a different price tier. This is a limited capacity event, and tickets may sell out. Groups of 4+ purchased at the same time get a 20% discount.

This event is 100% funded by our community. We have no corporate sponsors, and no deep pockets. Ticket prices directly fund the venue, permitting, insurance, and safety requirements. Please read this article for details: Transitioning to Ticketed Entry

Free tickets will be provided to selected volunteers, panelists, and theme camp leads.

Parking

Parking is free!

Park your vehicle at Gray Middle School, and walk to Lake David Park.

Limited handicap parking available across the street from the park, between 50 and Cherry St.

Principles and Rules

Anime in the Park is a tightly coordinated machine that is built on the framework of three principles:

Leave No Trace, Self-Reliance, and Teamwork

The principles set the foundation for how we should act. The rules keep give everything tangible boundaries. Event staff has the right to eject anyone who violates these rules.

Rules:

• Obey all federal, state, and local laws and policies.
• For serious and life-threatening medical and safety issues, please dial 911.
• Guests under 13 require a parent or guardian present at all times.
• Guests under 18 require parental consent to attend.
• No real weapons are allowed in the event. Prop weapons must be checked at the information booth. Some prop weapons may be denied entry.
• Cosplay is not consent. Do not take photos of anyone without permission. Do not touch anyone without permission.
• See something, say something. If you feel uncomfortable at any time, reach out to a staff member, or a greeter at the information booth. We are all here to support each other and build a safe environment!
• Leave No Trace. Do not leave trash on the ground. Respect the park.
• Public grills may not be used without prior written approval from Anime in the Park.
• Be nice, and if you can’t be nice, at least be neutral.
• No smoking.
• No alcohol.
• Poi and flow toys are allowed and encouraged!
• You must be a licensed and insured performer with prior consent from AITP to perform any flow art that utilizes props which are set on fire.
• Practice good hygiene.
• Anime in the Park staff reserves the right to eject anyone from the event at any time for any reason.
• Do not enter any areas that are roped off with caution tape.
• Have fun and cultivate happiness!
