Join us for a day of fire spinning, art, music and activities. This event is free and open to all ages. Featuring a marketplace of local artists and a wide variety of entertainment, this grassroots meetup puts a focus on community and togetherness. We will have music playing all day and various activities to jump into, like D&D hosted by Cozy Dragon Games. Our Cosplay Showcase takes place at 5pm, hosted by The Bombshells Cosplay. Our fire spinning show is taking place around sunset, courtesy of Starshot Entertainment.

Volunteer shifts are still available. We can always use some extra help! It’s pretty easy and it’s a fun way to meet people. We mostly need volunteers to walk the park and check on people, let them know where the activities are, make sure everyone is hydrated and happy, and to relay any questions. If you want to show up early you can help with placement and parking, which would be a huge help! Register online to get more information.
* Attendees do not need to register! Just show up and have fun. *
General Information
About the park: Lake David Park features a bandshell that will be utilized for music and performances. There’s plenty of shade, places to sit, and a nice pedestrian bridge around Lake David (groveland-fl.gov).
Getting there: Find us in Groveland, FL at the southwest corner where 50 and N Lake Ave intersect. Use this Google Maps link to get an exact location, or use 450 S. Lake Ave. Groveland, FL 34736 in your GPS (though it may lead you too far south down Lake Ave). Just look for the bandshell/amphitheater and you’ll find it easily. Street parking is available down Lake Ave, with a parking lot near the skatepark and splash pads (bathrooms also located here). If these are full, the parking lot at Gray Middle School on Magnolia St. may be available.
What to expect: People hanging out in cosplay. Local artists showcasing their work. Dance music. Flow art. Fire spinning (Starshot Entertainment). Dungeons and Dragons. Outdoor games. Good vibes.
Hours of operation: We will be on-site from 9am to 9pm, with the event officially taking place from 10am to 8:30pm. Artist Alley will be open from 10am to 6pm (or later). A fire spinning performance will take place around sunset (and during the day at various times). As we get closer to the event date, an official schedule will be released.
Artist Alley
10am – 6pm
Browse a wide collection of original work from local artists at our pop-up market. Support our ecosystem by purchasing directly from the artists who make these free events possible. Instead of paying for entry, we would rather see that money spent on these amazing, talented individuals! Use the #shoplocal and #animeinthepark tags to keep the message going.

All-Day Fun
Get out of the house and have some fun with old and new friends. The park makes a perfect backdrop for many cosplay photos, and group photo meetups. Music will be playing throughout the day, with the morning being more chill and lo-fi, some reggae during the day, and the late afternoon ramping up to house music and EDM. We’re also throwing lots of anime bangers and video game soundtracks into the mix. Dancing and flow arts are strongly encouraged! Not only are they fun, but it’s good for you to move. We also will have some games and activities to jump into.
Anime in the Park (AITP) aims to build communities through interactive fun. At the core, we’re setting the stage for people to shine and uplift each other. We do this by building a stable place where people can express themselves, let loose, and feel mentally and physically well.
We will be here all day. Come out and have some fun!
What to Bring
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, beach blankets, and anything they need to hang out comfortably. Flow artists, bring your props and put some kinetic amazingness into the park.
Also remember to bring sunscreen, water bottles, snacks, medications/inhalers, etc. This is Florida… it’s hot and it could rain at any moment, so pack accordingly!
If you would like to bring a pop-up tent as a shade structure for your group, please Contact us to see if there’s room in the layout for reserving a spot.

Support Us with a Donation
If you enjoyed what we provide, or want to support our mission, please consider making a donation to help us grow. This first event is a zero-profit endeavor. I’m hoping to grow Anime in the Park into a business model that is fair to artists and attendees, and focuses more on what we can do when we all come together, versus how much money we can extract from others. These kinds of efforts are extremely difficult without financial support. We’re not a 501(c)(3) yet, and may never be, so this cannot be used as a tax write-off. We’re asking for direct support. This is an honest effort to do something new and necessary towards healing communities and uplifting hearts and minds. It’s easier to explain what we’re providing if you show up to enjoy the day with us. Once you see everything in action it will all make more sense! Sometimes simply holding space for people and having fun is the answer to many problems. Anime in the Park is our way of providing that to everyone, especially those who may need it the most.
