Anime in the Park (AITP) is a reminder of how we should always live. It’s a practice session on how to be better humans. We aim to act as a catalyst for good habits, in a natural way, while having fun.
Core Principles
The core framework of AITP is based on:
- Leave No Trace
- Self-Reliance
- Teamwork
These three elements work together to ensure the parks stay clean, people stay hydrated and aware, and everyone gets along to create a beautiful experience.
Leave No Trace
Keep the park in pristine condition. Treat the earth with respect. Pick up trash, even if it’s not yours. We’re building a city for the day, but when we leave, there should be no sign of our presence.
Self-Reliance
Bring the best version of you. Come prepared. Be confident.
Teamwork
We’re here to pick you up if you stumble. This is a group effort. These events are only possible if we build them together.
NetsuCon Principles
Anime in the Park is the outdoor extension of NetsuCon.
The AITP Principles rest on top of the original NetsuCon Principles, which are:

In total, our events are based on the original 12 NetsuCon Principles, and the additional 3 that are specific to Anime in the Park.

Fire, Earth, and Ice
Each principle holds one elemental value.
Those elements are fire, earth, and ice.
Ice keeps Fire in check, which stabilizes Earth.
🔥 Fire represents the excitement at our events: the intensity and aliveness.
🧊 Ice represents the elements we have in place to guide that excitement, keep things in check, and curate a safe environment.
🌎 Earth represents the core framework that allows fire and ice to exist in harmony. Earth is the platform in which ice and fire dance on. Each of the principles interact in various ways.

As our events grow, it will be more and more important to hold onto these principles and values. All big problems start as small problems, and this guiding framework will help ensure these events remain positive and safe!
Another explanation of how the elements interact:
Essentially, the fire and ice elements push towards each other to build the platform of earth. Fire is great… it involves being excited and hype, but too much fire can be damaging (think the super annoying person who is in your face and causing problems). That’s where Ice comes in, to help cool it down and keep it from taking over too much. Ice can also become too cold and internal, so fire helps keep it alive (think someone who is maybe too shy and too worried about what other people think). Earth stands for the community we build, and is formed by the balance of fire and ice.
