Art is Our Refuge

Art is a refuge for both creators and those who appreciate it.

We should put intentional effort into keeping art alive.

Just turn on the news, and you will see that our world is ruled by entropy, which means things get messier and more chaotic as time marches on. Artists who take the time to create characters, tell stories, and draw images are doing something incredibly special and important. They are going against entropy. Instead of destroying, which is easy and happens everywhere, they are creating and building, which is difficult and rare.

There are immediate benefits to creating and observing art. Entering a flow state while making artwork is taking refuge in the process of creating. Looking at artwork and letting it move you is also taking refuge in something that has been brought into this world against all odds. It brings people together and lets them know they are not alone.

Anime in the Park is on a mission to fervently hold onto these ideals, and encourage people to both create and enjoy art.

We have the power to change the world. Stop impulse buying things that only serve to cause more harm in the world. Don’t shop at giant box marts. Stop supporting the machines of greed.

Instead, shop local.

Directly support the creators and artisans who live near you.

Come out to our unique little bubble to be a part of something much bigger than the chaos around us. When we come together with the right intentions, there’s no limit to what we can do. We gather in peace and confidence for the sake of doing what is right, and to have fun!

See you at our next event!
